Yoni Eggs and pleasure wands are very personal and at Yoni Samsara we believe that every woman intuitively knows what is best for her. That said, if this is your first introduction to pleasure and sacred self-care, it's normal to feel a little overwhelmed.

If after reading this you're still not sure where to start, if you need to choose one, our advice is Nephrite Jade, medium and pierced: this is our most popular yoni egg and is an excellent choice for beginners.

Here we answer the top 3 questions women have when choosing their first Yoni egg

What size?

Yoni Eggs come in 3 main sizes: Large, Medium and Small.

The large size is usually 35 x 50 mm, the medium size is 30 x 43 mm and the small size is 25 x 35 mm.

Rule of thumb:

Most practitioners can start with the medium sized egg. It doesn't matter if you are a tall or petite woman, the medium egg will most likely work best.

Which crystal?

Choosing a crystal is partly so wonderful and fun because the answer to which crystal to choose is already within you. Some women choose crystals based solely on their intuition.

Yoni eggs are made from many varieties of beautiful and exotic gemstones.

Many are safe to use inside, but be aware that not all types of crystal are safe to use inside the yoni, especially for extended periods of time.

Traditionally, in Taoist teachings, 3 types of stones were used. Women would start with the healing properties of nephrite jade, then move on to black obsidian to work on and integrate their 'shadows' and finally, when they felt ready, they would introduce rose quartz to open the heart.

These stones have been used for thousands of years and their safety and healing benefits have been proven over time.

The most popular gemstone for beginners is Nephrite Jade, which we recommend starting your practice with the yoni egg for the following reasons:

On a physical level it is a very hard non-porous stone and will not break if you accidentally drop it while you are learning to practice with the yoni egg.

It has a high thermal conductivity, which means that your body does not need to use a lot of energy to heat up.

Nephrite is a very healing stone for the physical body and especially for the female reproductive system.

Its energy is powerful as well as gentle and protective. Jade protects the owner from negative external energies. Most women can wear it for long periods of time while nourishing, grounding and energising her.

Nephrite jade is a perfect choice if you intend to do yoni egg exercises.

With proper care it's like a diamond ring that will last a lifetime!

Important: if you are going to buy a jade egg, make sure it is nephrite and that it is certified; there are many fakes and stones made from lower quality pressed stone chips on the market.

Our advice is to start your practice with jade, but if you feel called to work with a particular crystal or several crystals, go for it! Even if it is your first yoni egg or pleasure stick, it is your practice and no one will give you better advice than your own body and intuition.

Nephrite Jade - Communicates with the Heart chakra. The jade egg and the jade wand helps to connect our heart with our passion (second chakra and yoni). Nephrite jade energetically balances the water in the body and is therefore beneficial to the health of the whole body, and especially the kidneys and the female reproductive system. It is a very grounding, calming, balancing and protective stone that promotes self-love and well-being.

Black Obsidian - Resonating with the root chakra, obsidian is a very protective stone and a powerful ally for releasing traumas and emotions stored in the body, especially in the pelvis, transmutes negative energies and helps treat certain ailments of the female physical body.

Rose quartz: often referred to as the Stone of Love. Rose quartz corresponds strongly to the heart chakra, it helps to dissolve the barriers and blockages we have to feeling, giving and receiving the energy of love.

Important: Never use a crystal from a crystal shop that is not specifically sold as Yoni Eggs or Pleasure Sticks. During the manufacturing process of most decorative crystals sold on the market, chemicals, dyes and artificial fillers are used.
